A New Born

2Corinthians 5:17 - ..... anyone who belongs to Christ has become a new person. The old life is gone; new life has begun.

Jesus puts it this way in John 3:3 - "I tell you the truth, unless you are born again, you can't see the Kingdom of God."

When we think of a child being developed in his/her mother's womb - the child simply "exists". He doesn't have to know how to walk or eat or even really see. He/she is just there.

But, oh, at birth! Can you imagine how bright the lights of a hospital room are compared to the darkness of the womb? Or how it feels to stretch out arms and legs that have been folded up? And now he has to learn to feed, speak, walk and so much much more. Really, real life, has  just begun! He has moved from only existing to the beginning of a journey of purpose.

This is the same child, same DNA, same person who was locked in darkness but now has really seen the Light. He/she will be forever the same person but completely different than before birth.

The same happens when we come to faith in Christ! Moving from dark to light, constraints of sin to freedom in Christ, merely existing to purpose filled. The same person but made new! Recreated!

Let us all learn from the eagerness of a newborn - to learn to feed from the Word of God, walk in faith, run our race and not grow weary, seeking the greater things to come! Let us not be focused on the things of the womb (or of this world) but the Kingdom of God and what he has prepared, not only now but for all eternity, for all who are "born again"!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY!
