Make A Decision

Galatians 5:22-23: But the Holy Spirit produces this kind of fruit in our lives: love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self control.

We all know and realize to at least some extent that we want and need these things but we must not overlook one word in this passage - produces.

This means this is  naturally occurring when the Holy Spirit is given control in our lives. Think about a seed for a plant - if thrown on concrete it cannot and will not produce. It must be in the right environment to do what it is naturally designed to do. It must have soil, water and sunlight to even begin to sprout.

The fruit produced by the Holy Spirit in our lives works the same way. We must cultivate the right environment for fruit to be produced. The seed can lay dormant until the conditions are right just like a plant seed. It is up to us to create the right heart and mindset or cultivate the right environment for the Holy Spirit to produce.

Let's make a decision today to begin to cultivate our lives so this kind of fruit may be produced, grow or even for the initial seed to sprout.
