The Harvest

As a winter storm rolls through the country churches are cancelling services for obvious safety reasons. It makes me wonder, how many people who do not know Jesus are going to be out driving around hoping to find an "open church house". I expect none.

Jesus never said "lure them into a church building so the preacher can tell them about me". Luke 9:2 says he sent them out to tell everyone about the Kingdom of God. In Luke 10:2 Jesus did say: "The harvest is great, but the workers are few. So pray to the Lord who is in charge of the harvest; ask him to send more workers into the fields.

" The "Church" is people, not a building - the people are the workers. We are to be in the "fields" working, getting our hands dirty alongside those who don't know Jesus and telling others about Him. We are all the workers and called to "work the fields".

In short - Isaiah 43:10 says we are his witnesses because we know, believe and understand who God is.
