Time To Rebuild?...

Haggai 1:2&4: This is what the Lord of Heaven's Armies says: "The people are saying, 'The time has not yet come to rebuild the house of the Lord'"....."Why are you living in luxurious houses while mine lies in ruins?"

Then goes on to talk about everything the people are actually missing. This is in regard to rebuilding an actual temple for the  pre-Jesus people of God. After Jesus ascension into Heaven he sent the Holy Spirit to live in the hearts of man. We are now the temple of God.

Verses 1:12 says that "God's people began to obey the message" (to rebuild His temple.) Vs. 14 says that after the people began to obey, God sparked their enthusiasm from the governor down through the priests and the whole remnant of God's people.

If you are missing the enthusiasm for the Lord, the zeal for life maybe it is time to work on your own "temple of God" - your own heart. Stop worrying about what is on the outside and work on the inside. People, jobs, past experiences and even bad church experiences can tear down our "temple" or break our hearts but it is up to us to say, "Now is the time to rebuild"

Would you have the boldness and courage to ask the Lord for a new spark and be obedient to start rebuilding and creating a place for the Lord in your heart and life? You may never realize how big of a flame your own spark of enthusiasm could ripple!
